Holiday Bows

maya42maya38Pink coat {sold out, but similar here, here and here} // Joe’s Jeans // Leopard Flats {only $55 and super comfy!} // Purse {sold out, but love this one and this one!}

Holy heck, friends! It’s coooooooold out there!

I’m a little in denial about it being winter, but the one silver lining {okay, maybe the only silver lining, let’s be real…} is the fact that I officially get to bust out my favorite coats now that we’re in the 20’s, 10’s and 0’s in Chicago. And while I’m definitely not a fan of winter, there is something pretty magical about having snow on the ground for the holidays – maybe not the 8 inches we got this weekend, but still – I’ll take what we can get! maya45 maya53The chilly weather also makes it all the more wonderful when you get to come home after a cold day and cozy up in the living room with a hot cup of tea and the prettiest christmas tree. While I used to be pretty adamant about not making the holidays “a thing”, Tom being the magical man that he is, convinced me that you have to get excited for the holidays and go all out – Christmas tree, holiday decorations and all.

So a few weeks back we went and got a Christmas tree {at the Home Depot…haha} and spent the day hauling it up to his condo, decorating it, baking cookies and getting all holiday-y. At first I was a little skeptical, but I have to admit that coming over after a long day at work and cozying up by the Christmas tree is officially my new favorite activity. And the fact that Tom has to water it and sweep up the pine needles just makes it a little easier for me too 🙂 maya46 maya48 maya54 Speaking of the holidays, I’m seriously counting down the days until Christmas {t-minus 12!!!} – and not just for the celebrations, but also for some much needed days off. I’m excited to head back home to Madison, catch up on life, spend some time with friends back home and enjoy some much needed R&R with the family. Any fun holiday plans you’re looking forward to? I’d love to live vicariously through you too! xxmaya55

    Ha, we get our tree at the Home Depot too! I’ve tried convincing my husband that going to the farmers market for a tree would be lovely, but he insists they’re all the same and actually our Home Depot tree has always worked out fine and is especially great this year.

    Also, that coat is adorable.
