So…it’s not quite the weekend, but I thought I’d celebrate a little early with a fall cocktail I’ve been enjoying during the colder days in Chicago. The last few weeks at work have been a little crazy, so I’ve been rewarding myself when I get home late with this Rosemary Maple Bourbon Sour that’s just as beautiful as it is delicious! Depending on how your day went, you can decide how many shots of bourbon you might need – I’m not here to judge, just to provide you a little bit of drink inspiration 😉
What I love about this drink is that it’s not too sweet, and has a perfect mix of citrus and earthy flavors that I crave in the fall. The rosemary gives this cocktail a seasonal twist, and the bourbon is the perfect compliment to the maple and lemon flavors. You can bet I’ll be making this for my next get-together to attempt to impress my friends! Here’s what you need to whip up your own Rosemary Maple Bourbon Sour:
Ingredients:
• 3 shots bourbon {I used Bulliet Burbon from Drizly!}
• 1 & 1/2 shots fresh lemon juice
• 3/4 shot maple syrup {I used a dark amber one from Wisconsin}
• 1 large sprig of rosemary and 2 small sprigs for garnish
Directions:
• Take your large spring of rosemary and crush it in your hand to release the flavors. Add the crushed rosemary to your cocktail shaker.
• Add bourbon, lemon juice, maple syrup and ice. Shake vigorously for about 10 – 15 seconds.
• Strain the mixture into rocks glasses containing large cubes of ice and garnish with the rest of your rosemary sprigs. Enjoy! In other news, I’m excited to be jetting off to Florida this morning for a wedding! While the weather might not be all that promising, it will be nice to take a few days off to get our of town – we all need a little break every once in awhile 😉
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, full of a few bourbon cocktails to make it even more delicious! xx
