The First Days Of Fall

Oh hey there, fall – I can’t believe you’re officially here {whattttt??? how did this happen?!} After a pretty sweet labor day weekend {complete with a little Chicago staycation and a trip to DC}, I’m feeling a little more refreshed and ready for fall to officially start.

There’s something a refreshing about a new season on the horizon, and I’m excited to jump into fall with a few new goals of my own. For one, I’ve been trying to get my booty in gear, which means heading to a few more yoga classes and cooking up a few more home cooked meals than usual {I even made zoodles the other day which meant I had to take a photo and send it to everyone I know in a “see!!! I eat healthy sometimes!” celebratory text}. Maybe I’ll even start waking up early and become a morning person! Or start running! Or even give up carbs! Just kidding…I’ll probably just stick to eating zoodles once a week and cross my fingers – I shouldn’t try to do too much at once, right? Charmingly-Styled-Old-Navy (10 of 13)Anyways, in my attempt to start the season feeling new and refreshed, I couldn’t help but snag a few goodies to make my closet more ready for fall. And to save myself the guilt of feeling like I spent my last paycheck on clothes {we’ve all been there, right?} I swung by Old Navy to pick up a few staples that I had been eyeing for some time, and that were much more affordable than the goodies I had been crushing on that we’re 5X more expensive 😉

As someone with a very serious pro-flats agenda, I picked up these comfy lace up pointed flats just in time for cooler temperatures. Since I’m always walking around town {case and point, I walk on this bridge everyday to work!}, I can only survive with comfy shoes rather than sky-high heels. Sure, I want to be the badass babe who walks in stilettos to work {and wear them the rest of the day} but the reality is that if I’m not comfy, I’m not productive and will spend most of the day crying in pain than actually getting work done. Other business women of the world who can wear a cute dress and heels to work – I salute you. I’m more of a jeans, sweater and flats kinda gal myself 😉 Charmingly-Styled-Old-Navy (3 of 13) Charmingly-Styled-Old-Navy (8 of 13) Charmingly-Styled-Old-Navy (9 of 13) Charmingly-Styled-Old-Navy (6 of 13)I also insisted on this new duster sweater even though my boyfriend said that it was “totally a grandma sweater”, while we were sitting next to a sweet old woman at Dunkin Donuts {of course…also, as I said before – I can never truly give up carbs…}. As someone who loves anything comfortable, I’m seriously loving this oversized duster for fall, plus it doubles as a blanket on flights or chilly days to work – double bonus! Please be honest with me though, if I look like a grandma I should definitely know – and even if I do, I’m pretty sure I’m not going to give up wearing it anyways – it’s just that comfy!Charmingly-Styled-Old-Navy (1 of 13)Charmingly-Styled-Old-Navy (11 of 13)Any goodies you’re excited to add to your fall wardrobe? Whether you’re saving or splurging, I’d love to know! I’ve been on a serious shopping kick lately {I’m trying to stop myself, really!}, so if you have any suggestions I might need to add it to my virtual shopping list 😉 xx

Love this! I’m moving to Chicago in 3 weeks and trying to buy some new flats. Walking to work + heels = disaster. These black ones are so cute!
