Gordman’s Chambray Shirt // J.Crew Pencil Skirt // Madewell Heels {similar} // Loren Hope Bracelet {similar} // Gold Locket // Envelope clutch
When it comes to workweek style, I usually keep things pretty basic (and maybe a little boring…). My usual style consists of flats, the same skinny jeans, a t-shirt and a little sparkle to make things “interesting”. And whenever I come to work in pretty much anything else, people scratch their head and ask why I’m so dressed up, which definitely happened yesterday when I rocked this Gordman’s chambray top, pencil skirt and high heels combo. And because Chicago is just so classy…I definitely got honked at a few times on the way to work – oye. A special thanks to the West Loop for always knowing how to make a girl feel awkward! I’ve always been a big fan of chambray, and I’ve been adding a few new shirts to my collection year after year. While I usually gravitate towards lighter colors, I spotted this darker version from Gordman’s which I scored for a serious steal. This version is the ultimate top for a casual day around town with jeans (Canadian tuxedo style) or tucked into a pencil skirt for a more dressed up look for the office or cocktails out with a few of my favorite girlfriends. Not only does it go with basically everything, but it’s also incredibly comfortable – so even when I’m a little more “dressed up” than usual in the office, I’m still super comfy. I’m planning on wearing this shirt on serious repeat all season long, tucked into all my favorite pencil, midi or mini skirts 🙂 What’s your favorite way to rock chambray? I’ve been known to rock it a few different ways (see here and here) over the years!
How gorgeous are these photos?!! I can’t believe that you got this photo shoot done before work. Also, I’m loving that bracelet – it was the perfect accent to the outfit!
This is the perfect casual-to-office outfit! Chambray shirts seriously are one of the best closet staples – they go with anything. You look beautiful, as always!
Such a cute work look. Love the color of the skirt, too!
Such beautiful photos, Maya! Love this! 🙂 The skirt is GORGEOUS and I love how you paired it with the chambray!

Classic is never boring- I love pairing a chambray shirt with something a bit dressier. You look amazing here, lady!
