Eating Healthy with KitchFix Chicago

Kitch-Fix (11 of 22)Every Monday I think that this is the week that I’m going to start eating healthy – and as you may have already guessed, it usually doesn’t go too well. I’ll start by thinking I’ll pick up a salad for lunch, but then I find the Italian sub at the restaurant down the street from work, and my healthy kick goes out the door {honestly, who can say no to a meatball sub?}.

For everyone else who’s awesome at eating healthy, the secret is usually being able to plan and cook your own meals – but as admittedly the worst cook in the world, it’s not easy for me to get excited about prepping lunches and dinners on a Sunday {the universal day of work before the work week!} Kitch-Fix (3 of 22) Enter KitchFix, my new food prep BFF that creates delicious, fully prepared meals and snacks that can be delivered to you! Admittedly, there are a few food services like this in Chicago {and nationally}, but out of all the ones I’ve tried, KitchFix is definitely my favorite.

For one, KitchFix focuses on high-quality ingredients from local, all natural and organic sources. It’s so important to me to make sure I’m eating healthy and locally – and KitchFix totally delivers on their promise. Meals are chef-crafted {and believe me, you can taste that difference!}, gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free and corn-free, so they can really work for people who have food allergies or dietary concerns. Best of all, these meals and sides are delicious. I actually feel like it tastes more like quality takeout from a favorite restaurant than most meal service companies I’ve tried before. And believe me, if it doesn’t taste good – I’m not going to eat it {or tell you to either!}, which is why I really thinking KitchFix is the best of the best.

To further share my new love of the service, I wanted to share a few of my favorite meals, sides and snacks I’ve tried so far! They have an incredible selection of foods to try, so you’ll have to tell me your favorites if you happen to swing by!Kitch-Fix (5 of 22)Their Soba Noodle Salad is to die for – seriously one of my favorite sides I’ve tried! I’ve always been a big lover of soba noodles, and these gluten free Buckwheat noodles are delicious with their asian veggie medley and chili sauce. I’ll be ordering a lot more of these for lunch {with some other tasty snacks like the sprouted almonds below!}Kitch-Fix (7 of 22) Kitch-Fix (12 of 22) I love a big hearty salad for lunch, and KitchFix never skimps on the veggies and meats, which I love. This sesame seed chicken salad is one of my favorites to bring to work, and doesn’t give me the salad sads after eating it {you know, where you feel completely starving a few hours after eating a salad for lunch? The salad sads are REAL, but not with this salad!} Kitch-Fix (15 of 22) For breakfast, I’ve been eating KitchFix’s delicious banana walnut muffins as my on the go snack. As someone who sleeps in until the very last minute, I never have time to sit down for a bowl of cereal or fresh fruit. These muffins and gluten and grain free, but actually still taste totally delicious. I heat mine up in the microwave for a few seconds and it makes it even more decadent too! Kitch-Fix (18 of 22)As for the entrees, they have so many delicious options, but I love their Mediterranean inspired chicken shawarma that’s one of my favorite dishes ever. I love that they packed on the veggies in the tangine and that it comes with loads of hummus and lentil rice – I could seriously eat it 5 days a week 🙂Kitch-Fix (22 of 22)And another thing I love about KitchFix is how great all their snacks are! From paleo granola, to chocolate walnut cookies, to their tasty bars – I love that everything is healthy, balanced and actually delicious, always a win-win!

If you’re in Chicago and looking to try out KitchFix, I can’t recommend it enough! I know I’ll be going back soon to restock on a few of my favorites when I don’t feel like cooking for myself 🙂 And if you’re new to KitchFix, you can save $30 off your first order of $35 or more using this link here which definitely sweetens the deal! xx
