Valentine’s day is almost here – and whether you’re celebrating with your main squeeze, best friend, or even gifting yourself to something you’ve always wanted, it’s time to treat yourself!

I used to not be such a huge fan of Valentine’s day {it made me feel like I had to be all gushy about love} and fussing over a big Hallmark holiday wasn’t exactly my cup of tea. But when I started looking at celebrating Valentine’s Day as an opportunity to treat myself {and celebrate with the ones I love}, it didn’t actually seem so bad! So now once a year, I use it as the perfect opportunity to gift myself a little something I’ve been coveting, and unfortunately this year everything above has made it on my not so short list. I might need your help narrowing it down to just a few things…

Here are a few of my top pieces to treat yourself to, give you to your besite, or even for the guy or gal you love!

To Treat Yourself:

As a self proclaimed shoe lover, I’ve been on a serious shoe buying kick these last few months. I don’t know about you – but my shoe buying goes in phases, and I either avoid buying shoes for years {case and point: my tennis shoes from high school I still rock on a regular basis} or I go a little crazy. I’ve been a long time fan of M. Gemi heels, and these pretty pink pumps are just what I need to beat the winter blues. If you haven’t checked out M. Gemi yet, I urge you to look at all their pretty shoes ASAP! Plus if you want to save $40 off your first time purchase {YAS!}, you can use the code “maya712”!

For your Main Squeeze:

Obviously Valentine’s Day is all about celebrating love, so a sweet, and thoughtful gift is always appreciated! I recently discovered Uncommon Goods, and it’s quickly become my favorite place to buy one of a kind, homemade goods that don’t break the bank. Uncommon Goods has an incredible community of talented artists who create unique gifts, jewelry, home decor and more, and the site connects those artists with people all around the world who can easily purchase their beautiful pieces.

One of my favorite gifts if this Map of Our Hearts art that’s custom made for you and your main squeeze. The artist, Melissa, makes hearts out of old, vintage maps, with one side of the heart focused on where you grew up, and the other side made of where your boyfriend or girlfriend is from (cue the collective, “awwwwww!!!”) It’s such a sweet gift,  and one that you’ll have for years to come too!

Another fun idea if this scratch off map of the world, which is a gift my friend Emily gave her husband for their wedding a few years ago. It’s the perfect gift for the couple that loves to explore, and it will inspire you to travel the world and literally scratch countries off your list!  As a gal who loves to travel, I’m hoping to buy one of these for myself in the next year so I can start keeping track of all my favorite adventures. It would make the perfect Valentine’s Day gift, or unique anniversary gift too!

For Your Fashionable BFF:

For that uber fashionable bestie you’ll be spending Galentine’s day with (and maybe Valentine’s Day too!), I love Karlie’s Kookies as a tasty treat. Since Karlie’s part of Taylor Swift’s epic #GirlSquad, she clearly knows how to be the best bestie ever – complete with homemade, gluten free, dairy free goodness – they’re basically a salad, right? I’ll be making them for my favorite ladies – or buying a few tins if I get a little lazy right before the holiday 😉

Any other goodies you’re planning to get or give for Valentine’s Day? I’d love to know! xx
