Glitz and Glam for Valentine’s

I’m pretty sure every salesy person in the world has at one point used the phrase, “You deserve whatever {fill in the blank} that makes you feel like a supermodel!” and while I usually call BS, every once in awhile they may be actually telling the truth. And in the case of this pretty dress I borrowed from Rent the Runway, I actually did feel a little like a supermodel {and it felt pretty damn great too!}

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not one to get dolled up, especially if it’s something that can be avoided. I typically rock the sweater, jeans and boots look all winter long, and dread the days where I have to dress up for an event – be it a big client meeting, blogging event, work party, etc. I know I should learn to love the opportunity to play dress up – but I’m definitely more of a curl up on my couch watching Netflix on a Saturday night than a dressed up gala gal.

But sometimes it’s good to get out of your comfort zone {aka, out of the sweatpants and into a gown} and I wanted to find a perfect dressed up look for a Valentine’s Day gala. This bright hot pink dress from Rent the Runway immediately caught my eye, and I figured going bold was the best way to break out of my usual routine. And while I usually don’t feel like a million bucks when I’m dressed up, I couldn’t help but feel a little bit like Barbie in this pretty number 😉Valentines-Day-Gown (1 of 14) Valentines-Day-Gown (2 of 14) Valentines-Day-Gown (4 of 14) Valentines-Day-Gown (10 of 14)Valentines-Day-Gown (9 of 14)This Loeffler Randall clutch also immediately caught my eye, and I love how iridescent and pretty it looks with pretty much any color. I’ve long been Loeffler Randall’s #1 fan since my friend Carly introduced me to the brand a few years ago, and I’d been coveting this clutch for years. I love that you can rent it from Rent the Runway if you’re saving up for it, but I have a feeling I’m going to invest in one of my own sometime this year – you gotta treat yourself every once in awhile, right? Valentines-Day-Gown (5 of 14)Valentines-Day-Gown (7 of 14) Valentines-Day-Gown (8 of 14) Valentines-Day-Gown (13 of 14)Valentines-Day-Gown (12 of 14)To complete my glitzy Valentine’s Day look, I snagged these gorgeous earrings from Rent the Runway that absolutely slay. The perfect pair of crystal earrings will never go out of style {I’m personally obsessed with these ones here} and they make the best simple accessory for a glamorous night out. They also help with that whole “feeling like a supermodel” thing too, which never hurts!Valentines-Day-Gown (14 of 14)Any fun plans for Valentine’s Day? Please share with the class, I’d love to know what you’re up to!

A big thanks to Kelly for the photos!
