We all have something we’re a little self conscious about, and as of late my thin, volume-less hair has been on the top of my list. While my hair has come a long way over the last few years {there was a good chunk of time where most of my hair fell out – which is why my hair was ridiculously short when I started blogging {not a good look!}} it’s still got a little way to go. While I’ve tried lots of volumizing products in the past {and spray, shampoo, conditioner, mousse, you name it} I’ve never found a better way to add volume than getting a good old fashioned blow out – adding soft curls or waves to make me feel a little glamorous {cue the rock star music and the hair blowing fan in the background…}
So when I heard about JOOJ Blow Dry, a mobile dry finish hair salon currently located in Northbrook, I totally wanted to give it a try. I drove out there on my 27th birthday to pamper myself a little before a long day of shooting and hanging out with Kelly, Jess and Lauren to give my hair a boost just in time for birthday shenanigans. I’ve been a big proponent of treating myself lately {holla!} and it was the perfect way to start my birthday off right.
The JOOJ Blow Dry is one of the cutest, decked out air streams I’ve ever seen, complete with a washing station, 4 blow drying stations and the cutest wallpaper and decor. It was such a fun space and they had all the amenities to make the experience amazing – from iPads packed with the latest magazines and my favorite jams, I felt a little like I assume Mariah Carey feels on the daily 😉
Check out a little virtual tour of the JOOJ Blow Dry airstream – I would happily move in if I could! Pretty adorable, right? It’s awesome because the JOOJ Blow Dry airstream is easy to drive to, or it can even come to you for special event or get together if you’re extra fancy like that 😉
I choose some Taylor Swift loose waves and wore them to explore South Loop Loft with a few of my blogger girlfriends later that afternoon. They actually lasted throughout the day, which for my hair is a borderline christmas miracle! I’ll have more on South Loop Loft later {it’s a gorgeous space!}, but I wanted to give you a little preview of their living room space with one of my favorite, cozy winter outfits. This sweater from Anthropologie has been on heavy rotation since I snagged it last fall – and to be honest, I’m not sure if it’s just a sweater, a tunic, or a dress – but I’ve been pairing it with skinny leather leggings or wide legged pants to mix things up a little bit. So excited to share more of this space later this week! In the meantime, I’ll be sharing a few snaps over on Instagram, so you should follow along there if you’re not already {shameless plug, but hey! Good things are happening over there too!} xx
UGH, you are so cute you disgust me. I mean I love you, but seriously, so cute!
The Adored Life
You look darling! It is seriously a hair miracle when your hair stays curled for the entire day! I love when that happens (it hardly happens to me!) I hope you are doing well any enjoying the new job!
