Homemade Snow Globes

The week of Thanksgiving, and I’m already in the Christmas spirit. I’ve always looked for the perfect winter craft, but I wanted to avoid anything too cheesy. So, when I found this tutorial for Anthropologie Inspired Snow Globes, I had to give it a try!
Like all crafts I attempt,  I usually find out that I’m missing something…this time it was the cute little sisle trees in the snow globes. Rather than officially giving up, I found some holiday wreaths and decorations that I reconstructed to fit in the mason jars – which I ended up liking a little better. The nice part about these is that you can pretty much put anything inside…yay no pressure crafting!
Here are the super simple instructions to make your own snow globes…
Supplies:
1. Mason jars in varying sizes
2. Glitter – lots and lots of glitter!
3. Sisle trees, or other cute holiday materials, like wreaths, pine cones, or little figures {like the elf I lovingly named Henri in the front globe}
4. White putty
5. Super Glue
6. Tulle or ribbons for bows
Directions
1. Take the tops of the mason jars and use them as your stand
2. Pull together your inside pieces {wrap them in wire if need be}
3. Create a coat of putty on the base of the jar, and create a hole where the inside pieces will be placed
4. Gather the ends of the pieces for the scene and glue them to the base of the mason jar. Smooth out the putty around the base of your figure/bunch/tree
5. Shake glitter into the glass jar {about 1-2 inches deep}
6. Screw on the top of your jar {placing the figures in upside down}
7. Once securely fastened, flip your jar and watch the “snow” fall
8. Tie a bow around the base of the jar for a finishing touch
My apartment is already looking a little more festive with these on our living room table. What are you all going to decorate for the Holidays? xx
