Happy Monday friends! Raise your hand if you’re sipping an extra large cup of coffee this morning {because you know I am right there with you!}. I swear that during the week I’m about 75% caramel lattes, so I’m kicking things off accordingly with an extra big cup from Café Tola, my go-to during the work week. It’s one of those Mondays 😉

A few weeks back, Tom and I went to see La La Land on a Friday date night {one of our favorite mini traditions of going out to dinner and meeting up with friends or going on a little adventure!}. I had been wanting to see the movie for weeks, and we finally had a free night to catch a screening after work. Tom was a little trepidatious about seeing a musical, but after a little coaxing he finally agreed. Turns out he loved it movie even more than I did, even though I definitely enjoyed it too!

I tend to take musicals pretty seriously, probably more seriously than most. I spent a lot of high school taking voice lessons, singing in musicals and being a super show choir nerd for a good portion of high school {and yes, it was pretty much like Glee, except with a little less drama!}. I love a good musical, and La La Land did not disappoint – even though I assumed probably a lot of it was going to be overly hyped…but it was really, actually, incredibly good. Go see it before Oscar season if you haven’t already!McDonald_011517_0048 McDonald_011517_0087McDonald_011517_0084And while I loved the dancing, and the singing {well mostly, don’t go in with the expectation that Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are going to be the best singers in the world 😉 }, I was most inspired by the story – and the celebration of being a dreamer. no matter how foolish it might seem at times. I feel like as I’ve gotten older, I’ve become more practical when it comes to everything in life – and I sometimes forget about all the crazy-wonderful-big dreams that I used to have, or still have, I should say. And there’s nothing more inspiring than watching other people chase their big audacious dreams too, especially after trying, and trying and trying again.

So, what are my big audacious dreams? Traveling the world, working for myself one day, and building up this little blog to make it a bigger part of my life.  And when I stop to think about it, I feel so fortunate for al the dreams I’ve already chased down in my life so far – from moving to Chicago and working in social media, to owning my own condo, and living a life I truly love {and feel fortunate to live everyday}. So here’s to the ones that dream…and the ones who keep on dreaming too <3 McDonald_011517_0053 McDonald_011517_0061 McDonald_011517_0072 \ Oh, and another great thing about La La Land? The fashion – swoon! I fell in love with pretty much everything Emma Stone wore, and her silk dresses really inspired my to buy this pretty feminine dress from Club Monaco a few weeks back. I’d been needing a springy, feminine dress, and I found this pretty on super sale while shopping online. I’ve been trying to exert some self-restraint, but this dress was just too good. It’s a little La La Land inspired, and it’s perfect for warm winter days, and spring – which is hopefully just around the corner. McDonald_011517_0081Have you seen La La Land yet? I know from a quick poll in the office that people were split about the ending, but I absolutely loved it. Let me know if you agree or disagree 😉 xx

Um you are so cute. So, so cute. This dress is adorable on you, and these photos are lovely! I haven’t seen La La Land yet (I know…a crime) but I’m dying to. I need to squeeze it in before it leaves movie theaters!
    Isn’t That Charming.
