Every once in awhile, the holidays call for getting extra glam. Even though I usually don’t have too good a reason to dress up around the holidays {even our work parties are real casual}, on the rare occasion that it does happen, I always make sure to go all in. Getting dressed to the nines every once in awhile can be fun, and I always love splurging on a new dress every so often to commemorate the occasion {because we all need a good excuse, right?!} This season, I’ll be rocking this color blocked number from Kate Spade New York, which is by far my favorite dress I own! I first saw Karlie Kloss rocking it in the Kate Spade winter look book and I couldn’t help but fall in love {and maybe sorta, want to be her too – just another reason to buy it, right?} It’s surprisingly perfect for winter formal events since the material is luxe and thicker than most, and the over the knee length gives you a few more inches of warmth when you’re running from party to party during the holidays. Paired with a flirty pair of leopard print heels, I’m ready to get a little extra festive this season, even if the weather doesn’t want to let me have any fun 😉

One of my all time weaknesses when it comes to formalwear is anything that comes with a pretty {and giant} bow. Whether it’s this fabulous coat or the surprising oversized bow in this dress, every time I find something with a big ‘ole bow I have to make it mine {which is great for my wardrobe, but not so great for my bank account ;)} This dress is such a classic piece that I know it will last me year after year – and season after season. It’s the perfect winter dress, but it’s also a new go-to for spring and fall too!  I will never get sick of that peek-a-bo bow! Any fun, formal events you’re planning for this season?
