Bows & Scallops for Work

Champagne Pink Slingback Heels // Cuynana Work Bag // Scalloped Skirt {sold out, but these are other gorgeous scalloped options here, here and here} // Striped Bow Top {{also in white here. both are almost sold out, but I LOVE this one here too!}}

Happy Monday, party people! I can’t believe it’s already Monday…wasn’t it just 5PM on a Friday a few minutes ago? But here we are, back to the grind again and kicking off the week right. I hope you’re holding on to an extra-large cup of coffee this morning…we all need one right about now!

It’s been a hot minute since I shared an outfit post on my little corner of the internet, and it’s honestly been weighing a little heavier on me than it should have. The last few months have been a little nuts, and while I thought it would get easier {and in some ways it has}, it’s far from slowing down. Transitions with new jobs are tough, but getting used to a 3 hour drive every day + a long work day has made me a very sleepy lady. While I love having my blog as a creative outlet, creativity has taken a back seat as I’ve been working through these life transitions – but hopefully I’ll be back to my scheduled programming in the next few weeks!

And not to totally lay it on thick, but it’s hard staying cooped up working on creative projects when all I really want to do is go on summertime adventures! I’ve been playing beach volleyball with friends almost every weekend, going on long, sunny walks, biking around Chicago and spending as much time outside as I possibly can. The weather has been gorgeous, and all I want to do is spend my days outside of work soaking up as much sun as possible 🙂 I’m sure you’re in the same boat as I am too! In other, more fashion related news – I’ve been still working on building up my work wardrobe so I don’t quite look like a fish out of water in the corporate world {some days I might feel it, but I definitely don’t want to look like it!} A few weeks ago I put together my business formal wardrobe capsule collection and for the most part, these essential pieces have been keeping me looking stylish and somewhat put together during the workweek.

As I tend to get bored of my wardrobe pretty quickly {it’s a bad habit…I know}, I’ve been gravitating to adding a few more summery pieces to my closet. I scored these pink bow sling back heels on a super sale at Banana Republic, which has quickly become one of my favorite stores for work clothes. Since I love anything with a bow or scallops, this top from Banana Republic and skirt from Club Monaco have quickly become a weekly outfit combo, especially for hot summer days at the office. I just make sure to keep some blazers and sweaters in my office just in case the company’s being a little extra generous with their summer A.C. 😉  Okay, enough about work – anything fun you guys are up to this week? I’m trying to law low for the most part and spend some much needed quality time with Tom and friends between crazy work days at the office. Hoping to hit up some movies in the park, dinners in the neighborhood and catching up on my TV consumption 😉 Hope everyone has a good start to their week! xx

    Glad to hear that the new job is going well, despite all the new life craziness! No better way to live though, right? This outfit is adorable – I love that it’s a healthy mix of girly while still being appropriate for the office.
