The Best Dry Shampoos

Oh hello summer humidity! It’s me…Maya – and you’re straight up trying to KILL me this time of year.

I’ve been blessed with stringy, thin, straight hair, and while I’m lucky that I don’t have to walk outside and anticipate curls, I pretty much always look like a grease-ball this time of year. It’s not glamorous, but between the humidity and the heat, it looks like I’ve come straight from the pool when I’ve really just come straight from blowdrying my hair in the bathroom. Not cool weather, not cool.

So dry shampoo has officially become my new best friend. And I’ve quickly realized that dry shampoos don’t quite do the same thing for different situations {i.e. coming from the gym, getting ready for date night, regular maintenance, etc.} So here’s my little cheat guide to finding the best dry shampoo for exactly what you’re looking for. Sure, it might mean that you now have 6 new shampoos you love, but believe me – they’re worth the investment when your hair is trying to revolt against you this summer.Living Proof Perfect Hair Day & Full Blast Volume: Okay, so I cheated a bit, but these two products from Living Proof {co-founded by Jennifer Aniston, so you know it has to be good!} are some of my favorite hair products of all time. While they’re perfect for everyday, I like splurging for it for days after working out when I REALLY need some dry shampoo love.

Batisse Dry Shampoo: This affordable cult-classic brand is one of my all time favorites, and it’s easy to find at your favorite drug-store to boot! It’s under $6, and I love buying a few every time I do a hair product run {I usually go with the blush and the clean scented one!}

Aveda Shampure Dry Shampoo: I LOVE Aveda, so when I found out that they recently came out with a dry shampoo I was SO excited to try it. I love that their version is loaded with all natural ingredients, and it’s also smells just as good as their cult-favorite Shampure shampoo. Aveda loaded their dry shampoo version with 25 pure flower and plant essences, including certified organic lavender, petitgrain and ylang ylang.

Oribe Dry Shampoo: I tried out Oribe’s dry shampoo at the Blue Mercury store opening a few months back, and ever since then I’ve been so tempted to buy it for myself. It works amazing, but even more impressive is how incredible it smells! It’s like perfume for your hair {really, so good…} and it would be the perfect dry shampoo for a pre-date night refresh.

KLORANE Gentle Dry Shampoo: Another favorite everyday dry shampoo, KLORANE’s Oat Milk version cleans your hair without water while being perfect for sensitive scalps (like mine!). If you’re needing quick texture and volume without residue, this is one of my favorites.

Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo: Last but not least, I’ve been a fan of Amika’s dry shampoo for YEARS, and I love that it’s made with antioxidant and fatty acid-rich obliphica oil, making your hair feel weightless, stronger and smoother too. It also does quite a number making your hair shinier, bouncier and healthier by repairing split ends. In short, it basically does it all – and I’m definitely not mad about it 😉

Did I miss any that you swear by? Please share with the class because I could use some TLC in the hair department 😉 xx

    Great list! I haven’t tried some of these. I love using dry shampoo, but lately I’ve been showering every night and washing my hair so I find I’m using less. I’ll sometimes add it for texture, which makes a huge difference when styling.
