Recovering From the Weekend

Margaret O’Leary Knot Sweater // Joe’s Jeans // Tassel Loafers {love these affordable options here, here and this one to splurge on}  // Cuyana Purse

For me, the weekend is all about being casual. Sure I like to get dressed up with my girlfriends and enjoy a night out in Chicago, but if it was usually up to me I’d be wearing jeans, a comfy sweater and flats all day erry day {oh, and drinking wine and watching Netflix too!}. And bright and early on a Monday morning, I’m wishing I could magically be transported back to the feeling of Saturday morning, knowing I can sleep in, ease into my day and wear clothes that make me feel comfy, rather than having to get dressed up for work.

This past few weekends have all about catching up on my life – from cleaning my closet, to vacuuming my entire apartment and meal prepping for the week ahead. I have to admit that I used to NEVER meal prep, but the past few weeks I’ve been stopping by ALDI and Trader Joe’s to load up on the good stuff and make lunches and dinners for the weeks ahead – because honestly if I don’t, I find myself eating popcorn and drinking wine night after night. Carbs are the base of the food pyramid, right? It’s nice to feel like you’re ahead of the week on a Sunday night, which is a rare victory for me. Whoever said, “A Sunday well spent brings a week content” was obviously right, but also kinda annoying for giving me unrealistic expectations of what I could actually accomplish on a Sunday afternoon…   While trying to be a responsible human being this weekend, I lived in this Margaret O’Leary knot sweater that I’ve absolutely fallen in love with. It’s the perfect grey color to go with everything, and it looks gorgeous with comfy jeans or a high waisted skirt. I liked rocking my regular skinny jeans with them to show a little peak of skin {scandalous! okay…kidding}, especially now that the weather is warming up here in Chicago. Now if only I could figure out a creative way to wear this to work, I’ll be totally set this week too… Okay, so let’s talk this week! Any fun plans ya’ll are looking forward to? I’m excited to kick some bootay at work, spend time with friends and get ready for my parents to come down and visit this weekend! I hope you’re all looking forward to a fun and productive week ahead too! xx

Maya you look great! I love this gray sweater with a peek of skin!! I hope you accomplished everything you wanted to this weekend! I cooked up a storm yesterday so now I don’t have to make dinner all week! Yippie! It really does make a difference and makes the week much easier!
