Happy Monday friends! Hope you all had a lovely weekend and are easing into a new work week with an extra large cup of coffee. I’ll definitely be drinking a big cup in solidarity with you this morning too!

I spent a few days back home in Madison with my family, hitting up a few of my favorite coffee shops, restaurants, museums and everything in between. It’s nice to escape the hustle and bustle of Chicago, especially after such a draining week last week. Madison has always been the place that feels most like home, and there’s something so refreshing about taking a few days to slow down. It might be kinda bad, but sometimes I don’t even call my friends when I come home just so I can catch up on life, watch Hulu with my parents {we definitely binged watched the latest season of The Mindy Project, whoops!} and sleeping 10 hours a night. Sometimes a girl just needs time with her family, sleep in ’till 10 and hang out with her bald cats. And yes…you read that right, I definitely do have bald cats at home 😉 charmingly_styled-22-of-36 charmingly_styled-23-of-36 charmingly_styled-24-of-36Another big reason I wanted to spend some time back home was that I’m headed to Patagonia this week {Thursday in fact!} and I wanted to spend some time prepping for the big adventure – and pick up some camping gear of course. I’m planning on traveling 2 weeks with just a backpack, which means I really have to get myself together more than I have for any other trip! It’s not that I can magically stop by a Target in the middle of the mountains {big bummer…}, and I’ve been scouring packing lists online to make sure I have everything I need to fit into my epically large backpack. Needless to say, there will be no fashion posts coming from the mountains of Patagonia – unless I decide to do a very un-Charmingly Styled blog post 😉

So here’s a little fashion fix before I head off to the wilderness, clunky hiking boots and all. I don’t think there’s too much room for bows on the trail, so I busted out my favorite bow sweater from Club Monaco before I have to wear hiking clothes for 2+ weeks. I splurged on this summer at the beginning of fall, and it’s still my favorite sweater that I wear at least one a week. Who doesn’t love a well placed bow? And when you can have three – it’s basically sweater gold. Paired with these girly over the knee boots – this might be one of the most anti-hiking outfits in my closet, so it’s the perfect thing to wear before our big trip to the wilderness 😉 charmingly_styled-28-of-36charmingly_styled-27-of-36charmingly_styled-29-of-36And while I might not be sharing outfit photos with you when I come back from South America, I am hoping to share a few travel guides so you can plan your own trip to Patagonia and B.A.! And if you happen to have experience adventuring down there yourself, please share with the class! It’s not too late to take some last minute tips and tricks into consideration {and let’s be real, I’m still pretty far off from packing – I have 3 more days after all!} xxcharmingly_styled-26-of-36Photos by Jules Kennedy Photography

Cute outfit. Enjoy Patagonia. My cousin just returned from two weeks there and judging by her photos it may be the most beautiful place on Earth.
