Monday Coffee Break

Happy Monday, friends!

After thinking I would have plenty of time to blog last week, it turns out that working while traveling actually translates to a lot less free time than you’d think 😉  I spent all of last week in L.A. for work, shooting some content for Modelo for Day of the Dead and running around like a crazy person to make sure everything went as smoothly as possible. It was a blast to get away for a week {and spend some time in sunny LA!}, but to be totally honest I’m completely exhausted – even after a few days of recovering. I’m excited to get back into the swing of things this week and spend some time recouping – and catching up on blogging too!

I spent the weekend working desperately to catch up on projects and catch up with Tom before he heads to San Fransisco. He works in politics, so he’s been pretty swamped these days – and with the combination of me traveling and being crazy with work, it was nice to catch up and see each other after a week or so apart. My favorite part of any weekend is spending Sunday together, cooking dinner, splitting a bottle of wine {no shame, right?} and catching up on all the crap tv we missed throughout the week. When it’s nice outside, we’ll sit and watch people biking and running along the 606 in Chicago, and his balcony patio has become one of my favorite places to unwind. I wish Sunday came a few times a week since it’s quickly become my favorite week-night 🙂charmingly_styled-5-of-36 charmingly_styled-1-of-36 charmingly_styled-6-of-36 And after recovering from such a wonderful weekend, Monday mornings are always filled with lots and lots of coffee.  I’ve been swinging by Tom’s coffee shop {the store, not my boyfriends!} on Damen Ave. to pick up a seasonal latte or a chai tea. Besides the fact that the decor is adorable, it’s also pretty awesome that they give clean water to people in need with every drink sold – so I basically did a good deed before the official work week kicks off 😉 I’ve been spending most of my early hours on Monday there, catching up on emails, gearing up for a busy week ahead and enjoying a coffee {or two} to get myself ready for my epic to-do list. It’s a pretty lovely way to start my week on the right foot and I’ve started to look forward to my Monday mornings, rather than dread them. charmingly_styled-9-of-36 charmingly_styled-11-of-36 charmingly_styled-19-of-36For my most recent trip to Tom’s coffee shop, I popped on my favorite new poncho and a comfy turtleneck sweater. It’s been surprisingly warm in Chicago this fall, but I’ve been relishing busting out a few of my favorite fall pieces without completely freezing my booty off. This poncho is so cozy and it’s easy to just pop on for a weekend running errands or even rocking it for a comfy day at work. Paired with my favorite leather booties it’s the perfect fall look, and one that I’ll be wearing on repeat all season long. charmingly_styled-12-of-36 charmingly_styled-13-of-36 charmingly_styled-17-of-36 I hope you all are looking forward to an epic week ahead! Have any fun plans? If anything, make sure to vote on Tuesday! I’m not sure if it classifies as fun, but it’s definitely important 😉 xx

Loved reading this little update from you! Even though you’re exhausted from work, you seem happy 🙂 And your Sunday routine sounds like something we should incorporate to ease ourselves into the week. I’m taking notes over here 😉 I hope to run into you soon!
