Clearly, I’m on a little bit of a cocktail kick this month, but with the weather as crazy hot {and beautiful} as it’s been, it’s been nice to have the chance to whip up some light and refreshing cocktails to beat the heat!
When it comes to my favorite cocktails of all time, anything that falls under the “tequila” category is pretty much good to go in my book. So when Drizly sent over a delicious bottle of silver tequila, I knew I had to make a few new tasty drinks with it! While I’ve ordered my fair share of Palomas at the bar, I’ve never made them at home myself, but once I realized how easy they are to make {especially with a little grapefruit soda hack!} , they’ll be my new go-to drink all summer long.
I love the combination of citrusy grapefruit, the sweetness of the grapefruit soda, and the kick of a shot of tequila, especially after a long day in the office. This recipe will be on serious repeat all summer long – and luckily for me, it’s pretty easy to make! Here’s what you’ll need to whip up a delicious Paloma for yourself!
• Salt for the rim of your glass
• 2 1/2 oz of tequila (I used El Jimador Silver from Drizly)
• A squeeze of lime juice
• Grapefruit Soda (like San Pellegrino, or Jarritos)
• Lime wedge & grapefruit section to garnish
How to make it:
Take a highball or margarita glass and wet the edge with a slice of lime. Dip the rim in finely corse salt and then carefully fill your glass with ice. Add tequila and lime juice to the glass, then top with grapefruit soda (adding in a little simple syrup if you like your drink a little sweeter). Stir all the ingredients together gently, and then garnish with a wedge of lime and a quarter slice of grapefruit. Enjoy!I’ll be craving this drink all week, and probably caving and having it at least a few times 😉 Have any other go-to cocktails worth trying? I’d love to add a few more refreshing drinks to my summer repertoire! xx
Mmm… looks and sounds delicious! I love how simple it is to make. Thanks!
