Ugly sweater parties be damned, I’m starting the super chic sweater tradition right here right now. Anyone else on board?
Sure, I’ve had my fair share of of ugly sweater parties back in the day, but as someone who’s sorta kinda starting to grow up {debatable…} I’m all about expanding my wardrobe with pretty sweaters instead of ugly ones 😉 So if you’re ready to start this new tradition with me, here’s a few easy steps to make your party extra glam. #1 Gift yourself an extra cute sweater:
Okay, so this is a no brainer – but swap your typical crochet Christmas/Hanukkah sweater vest for a sweater you’ll actually wear over, and over and over again. I snagged this Bah Humbug sweater for a deal at Boohoo that’s not only holiday appropriate {at least for me!}, but also super comfy-cozy to boot. Whether it’s paired with faux leather leggings, a plaid pencil skirt or just a casual pair of jeans while running errands – it’s the best way to ring in the holiday season – whether you’re a fan or your family’s resident grinch. #2 Accessorize accordingly:
When you’re kicking off a chic-sweater tradition, it’s important to accessorize accordingly. Rather than going a little overboard with the red and green, I grabbed this gorgeous fresh water pearl leather wrap bracelet from Victoria Emerson, a newly discovered jewelry brand I can’t get enough of. As someone who firmly believes in the little details – accessories are always the best way to glam up an outfit – and I love this pretty wrap bracelet that’s perfect for the holidays and beyond. I’ve always been a wrap bracelet fan from afar, but now that I’ve tried one out for myself I can definitely see what all the fuss is about. I have a feeling I’ll have one in every color by next Christmas! #3 Get Sparkly!
As someone wise once said, “Sparkles do the body good” {okay, you got me – I just made that up right now}, but regardless of who said it, I think it’s definitely true. Whenever I’m rocking sparkles I can’t help but feel a little more confident, and a whole lot bolder – so sparkles are a must when rocking a look for an extra chic sweater party. These glitter Keds x Kate Spade sneakers always give me a little more pep in my step, especially during the holidays. This winter, it’s been warm enough in Chicago to wear them on repeat and I couldn’t be happier about it – bring on the 60 degree days and the light sweater weather!
Alright – so who wants to throw a chic sweater party with me before the holidays? I’m clearly ready to officially make this a thing 🙂
In other news – I’m off early for the week to get back to that work grind and play a little catch up on the work I’ve been terribly neglecting {and all the holiday gifts I have totally failed at buying so far!} Is anyone else completely SOL when it comes to their Christmas list? Please pray for me – there are not enough hours in the day this time of year 😉 Enjoy your weekend and let the countdown to Christmas officially begin!
Too cute! I have those sneakers in other colors and love them!

This sweater is too cute! Good luck wrapping up your shopping 🙂 I’ve still got a few last minute things to pick up and if Trader Joe’s last night was any indication of the crowds, I might have to splurge for speedy shipping haha.
26 and Not Counting
This is grouchy perfection, which if it’s not a thing, it really should be.
