Doing Good and Staying Fueled and Hydrated Throughout the Day

Good morning, friends! I’ve inadvertently taking a little mini hiatus from blogging – I blame it on traveling for work and life, work being crazy, and everything in between, but I’m finally back, at least for a little while in the next few weeks. I’ll share more on my inadvertent break later this week, but I’ll save that post for another day 😉

In the meantime, I’m super excited to team up with my friends at Ello! Ello makes the most magical water bottles, tumblers, food storage and more, and I’ve been using (and loving) their products daily over the last year or so. They’re high quality, microwave and dishwasher safe, and with their newest line they’re also giving back to water charities in communities in need all over the world. With every purchase of one of their limited-edition clean water products, you can provide clean water to a person for an entire year. Plus they have three products to choose from – their Thrive Glass Water Bottle, Cole Stainless Steel Travel Mug and Aspen Ceramic Travel Mug.

I’ve been really trying to make a concerted effort to only buy things that last, and purchase from more brands that promote social good, and Ello is one of those brands that totally fits the bill. Their new line of water bottles and travel mugs with limited-edition designs donates all proceeds to H2Open Doors, connecting local communities to water treatment systems around the world – producing up to 40,000 liters of safe drinking water every day. For every bottle purchased, all proceeds will go to directly fund a new water filtration system to help get clean, safe drinking water to communities in need.

To celebrate their new Clean Water line, and the amazing work Ello is doing with H2Open Doors, I wanted to share my morning and daily routine that keeps me hydrated and fueled throughout the day. I try to follow the same routine, but usually I get distracted, or sleep in too late, or just forget that water exists – so I’m clearly not perfect. BUT, I do see that it makes a difference when I actually stick to it.

Morning Matcha:

When I don’t snooze my alarm 7 times in the morning (I wish I was exaggerating…) I try to start my day with a morning collagen Matcha latte to drink on the way to work. It’s the perfect boost of caffeine in the morning, and the collagen keeps my skin looking not so tired – or at least, that’s what I’d like to think 😉

I’ve been mixing heated unsweetened almond milk and 1 scoop of collagen powder (along with a little spoonful of honey) and foaming it with a hand milk frother in my Ello Cole Stainless Steel Travel Mug.  I’ve been using it for the past few weeks, and I love that it is leak-proof, has a built in cork coaster (so I don’t leave rings on my coffee table or desk!) and fits my cup holder when I’m on the go in my car.  I also love the tumbler because it’s a little higher and wider than other ones I’ve had in the past, which makes it less likely to spill over while I’m frothing my morning latte – and get green Matcha everywhere.  And best of all, it stays warm for up to 5 hours (and cold for 10) – so even if I don’t drink it all on the way to the L, I can enjoy a warm Matcha latte at my desk a few hours later.

Don’t be fooled though, I definitely need a second coffee in the afternoon, so I’ll usually take my tumbler down to the coffee shop downstairs for a latte around 1 or 2PM. I always order a tall with my tumbler, and they usually fill it up to the top so I get a little more than usual. Perks of bringing your own mug to coffee shops! Staying Hydrated Throughout the Day:

Most people live their lives dehydrated most of the time, and I’m definitely one of those people myself. I know we’re supposed to drink 8+ glasses of water a day, and many days I usually realize by 1PM that I haven’t even had a sip of water yet that day – whoops! I’ve been trying to make more of a concerted effort to fill up my water bottle multiple times a day – and as silly as it sounds, having a pretty Thrive 20oz Glass water bottle from Ello somehow makes me feel more motivated to actually fill it up – and it’s easier to track throughout the day knowing each bottle is 20 ounces. It doesn’t leak, stain or smell (you all know that “water bottle” smell we’d all rather avoid…) and it’s BPA/BPS free too!

I’ve even been setting alarms on my phone to remind myself to drink more water, and making myself stop in between back to back meetings at work to swing by the kitchen to fill it up. It’s amazing how much of a difference drinking water makes to your mental clarity and I’ve noticed a change in how I feel when I’m consistently drinking water throughout the day.

To incentive myself to drink more, I’ve been adding sliced fruits to my water – pretending like it’s more of a spa experience than a necessity. Plus, it makes my water look even prettier – and I can refill throughout the day with the citrus taste in every subsequent fill up. I’m definitely not perfect yet – but hoping I get more in the habit of drinking water more consistently in the future!

Hopefully I can keep my good hydration habits up, but only time will tell 😉 Do you have any tips for keeping yourself energized and hydrated throughout the day? With long days at work it can be hard to remember to fill up your water bottle or have time to sneak away for another cup of coffee, so any reminders to tricks you have are always appreciated!

A big thanks to Ello for sponsoring this post! I’m a huge fan and all opinions are my own. Thanks for supporting the brands that make Charmingly Styled possible!
