While I love summer and the fact that it’s so beautiful outside, my sensitive skin has taken a hit with all the heat these days. It’s funny—I’ve lived in the Midwest all my life at this point but for some reason, I still can’t get used to the summer heat. And my skin seems to not be able to, either!
I’ve been trying to give myself a little more TLC these days—and while the weeks are usually long and busy, I try to carve out some time for myself on the weekends for some self care. I’ve definitely been known to have the Sunday Scaries, so I’ve been trying to embrace Sunday nights a bit more with a self-care Sunday routine that I actually look forward to. It may not make Monday morning 1000% better, but my skin is at least a little bit happier 😉
Cetaphil® has been one of my tried-and-true brands over the years—especially for my sensitive skin. I actually first used it when it was recommended to me by a dermatologist back in middle school, and it’s quickly become a skincare staple in my bathroom cabinet. Since I’ve been using Cetaphil® for years, it’s one of the few skincare brands I can consistently depend on for always making sure my skin doesn’t break out when I use it. And I love that it has a gentle scent and isn’t overpowered by fragrances—it leaves your skin leaving fresh and au naturale! To get the stress of the week off, I usually start my self-care Sunday routine with Cetpahil’s gentle makeup removing routine, which double cleanses my skin. I always start with Cetaphil® Liquid Makeup Remover to get rid of my makeup after a long day. It does an amazing job of getting my skin prepped for cleansing, using a face mask and moisturizing my skin. While I love makeup removing wipes, the liquid does a better job (for me!) getting all the makeup off my sensitive skin after a long day. I always pick up Cetaphil’s liquid makeup remover at Target and have it stocked in my bathroom cabinet. I love that Cetaphil’s liquid makeup remover doesn’t sting my gentle skin (we’ve all experienced makeup remover that felt like it was burning our skin and eyes!), and it leaves my skin feeling soft and ready for the next step: cleansing! Next, I usually reach for Cetpahil® Gentle Skin Cleaner to really make sure I get the grime of the week off. It’s one of my favorites because it’s designed for every kind of sensitive skin, and it gently cleanses, hydrates, moisturizes and nourishes all in one. Plus, it has this delightful creamy texture—which makes it great at getting all the grime of the day off. I’ve used a lot of cleansers over the years, and nothing has been as gentle on my skin as Cetaphil’s Gentle Skin Cleanser—which is why it’s always in my bathroom cabinet. You can find it at your local Target where I pick up mine!
And believe me, there’s nothing worse than using a skincare product and seeing that it’s turned your skin bright red and splotchy….we’ve all been there, but Cetaphil’s Gentle Skin Cleanser is totally safe and nourishing for sensitive skin. After I remove my makeup, I’ll usually pop on a mask, pour myself a glass of wine, and then immediately binge watch something on TV because sometimes you need a balance when it comes to self care 😉 Do you have a self-care Sunday routine that make the Sunday scaries a little less overwhelming? I’d love to know what products and routines you use to make the stress of the week!
I’ve heard so many good things about Cetaphil but never tried it! 🙂 It’s nice these products work into your routine 🙂 If I’m not too exhausted on a Sunday night I like to try a face mask for a bit of self care!
Hope that you have a lovely weekend ahead of you! 🙂
Away From Blue
After suffering with constant breakouts, the only thing that helped calm my skin down was using a Cetaphil wash on a nightly basis! Great post featuring this tried-and-true product 😀
