Coffee & Casual Overalls

Overalls and purse from Gordmans! (both were amazing finds for a steal!) // Cole Haan Sneakers // Saturday and Sunday’s Shirt (old from Anthro)

I’m definitely over here trying to get back into the swing of things after an amazing long holiday  weekend. I don’t know about you, but I could definitely use a few more days off…Monday came a little quicker than I would have liked 😉

I hope you all had an amazing July 4th and long holiday weekend (for those of you who had to work on Friday, I’m so very sorry…I’ve definitely been there before). I spent the 4th at a beautiful friend’s wedding in Lake Geneva, and then headed back to Madison to spend the rest of the weekend with family and friends. We went to the Farmer’s Market, ate lots of homemade meals at home (my dad’s been very into smoking meat now that he’s retired, which I’m a big fan of), explored around Madison, spent time with friends I haven’t seen in awhile (and they’re cute babies!) and generally just enjoyed being home to slow things down for a few days.

I’m still in Madison working for a few days, and then heading up to Door County for another long weekend with Tom’s family to celebrate his cousin’s wedding! We try to go up to Door County every year, and this year he came back to San Francisco to spend about a week back home in Wisconsin. I’m excited to stay at his family’s house in Sister Bay, eat at so many yummy restaurants (Wickman House and Trixies are our favorites), hit up the townie bars and impromptu music festivals, and celebrate summer on the lake. I took Thursday and Friday off, so I just have a few more days of work before getting to enjoy some R&R again. The clock is ticking 😉    When it comes to weekends and vacation mode, I’ve keeping things pretty casual these days (lots of cut off shorts, tie up tops and these cute short overalls!). I honestly didn’t think overalls were ever going to back into style, but I’m kinda happy that they are. They’re super comfy and pair well with anything under them – whether it’s a bralette, crop top, tank or shirt, like this “Saturdays and Sunday’s” top I’ve had for years. I also bought a pair of white long overalls that I’m planning to wear on slightly cooler days – or in the fall (which will hopefully come late this year after a very delayed start to summer). Anyways, they’re comfy – and while I originally resisted the urge to buy overalls again after retiring them 20 years ago, I’m happy I ended up buying them again. Don’t think I was going to fit into my 10 year old pair anyways 😉

Also, how dreamy is this cute Hero coffee shop? I’d seen it in so many people’s Instagram photos and didn’t know where it was. Turns out, it’s only a few blocks from my work and it’s so cute – plus the coffee is real tasty too!

I hope you all have a relaxing and productive week ahead!
