Outfit from Gordmans! Shirt (Rebecca Taylor) // Jeans (Levi’s) // Heels (Nine West) // Sunglasses (Joe’s Jeans) // Purse (C.Wonder)
Good morning from NYC! The past week has been a whirlwind – traveling to Jacksonville Florida for work touring our Maxwell House plant, and then flying right to NYC for our war room for Super Bowl with Planters. I’m exhausted from traveling (even though I’ll be here until Thursday for another shoot!), but thrilled with how well everything went amazing (and we won the Twitter brand bowl, which means we were the top brand tweeted during the Super Bowl!) On a night that’s like the Oscars for advertising, we were pretty excited to have had everything go so well – now I’m just working on coming down from the high to get back to my to-do list. You have to take the time to appreciate the highs though, especially when they don’t come around every day.
Now that I powered through my January of total craziness, I’m hoping to slow things down a bit and get back on a slightly normal schedule. The past few weeks (months really) were stressful, and I spent more time at work than I did anywhere else (even probably at home). Now I’m hoping things slow down a bit so I can get back to a somewhat of a normal schedule – full of more time with friends, date nights, yoga and finding time to work on the blog to (poor blog has been a little neglected lately, whoops!)For planning a few more date night or drinks with friends – getting dressed up is a bit more difficult in the winter. I try to avoid dresses and skirts like the plague (too cold!), so my uniform is usually high waisted jeans, a flow, floral top, stylish boots and a jacket on top.
I bought all these pieces (minus the jacket) from Gordman’s a few weeks back, and I love that they carry so many amazing name brands at a fraction of the cost compared to other retailers. Gordman’s is an off-price retailer, which means that they buy excess from other department and specialty stores, giving you the best reduced prices. For us, it means amazing deals on fashion, home decor, jewelry, kids apparel and more!
I love that Gordman’s is always filled to the brim with bargains and incredible deals. I’m a huge fan of Rebecca Taylor, and found this cute top for date night for under $20 (her tops usually retail for well over $150!). I also scored these cute black heels from Nine West that I’ve been wearing on repeat this winter, these Joe’s Jeans sunglasses, C. Wonder purse, and these Levi jeans that fit like a glove. For this, and another outfit I’m sharing next week, I probably spent about $150 on both outfits which shows how good of a steal Gordman’s is! If you’re looking for your favorite fashion labels at a steal, Gordman’s is definitely worth checking out! As for my favorite date night spots, there are tons of places around Chicago I love. Kameya is one of my favorite Japanese restaurants in my neighborhood, and it’s great for date night, or grabbing dinner with my friend Evalyn who lives down the street! I also love Club Lucky for Italian food in Bucktown (the decor makes it feel like you’re in a 50’s American Italian movie, and the food is delicious), Big Star for their margaritas and tacos, or Bento Box for a double date or a big group of friends (you need to experience the magic of their Singapore noodles – so good!). I could go on and on about restaurants in Chicago, but the above are a few of my tried and true favorites 🙂
A big thanks to Gordman’s for sponsoring this post! As always, all opinions are my own. Thanks for supporting the brands that make Charmingly Styled possible!
