You guys – can you even believe 2018 is almost over? Where did the year go? While I’m kiiiiiinda ready for next year to start, I’m also freaking out a little bit because it seems like the older I get, the quicker time passes by.

2018 was a big year for me in a lot of ways. I started a new job at Kraft Heinz in May which was a whirlwind of transitioning to work at a big CPG (consumer packaged goods) company, being a part of a ton of amazing projects and product launches, building social playbook and best practices with amazing agencies, and having lots of incredible projects in the works for Q1 of next year – and beyond. I don’t talk about work much on here, but it’s been an exciting rollercoaster over the year, but I was very happy to have a few days off over the holidays to relax and recharge before kicking off 2019!

All the while with a crazy work schedule, I’ve tried my best to keep this little blog chugging away with new content and fun partnerships with so many brands I’ve loved and been inspired by over the years. While the balance is hard sometimes, it’s still so rewarding to have a little creative outlet I can get excited about that keeps me energized. I’m hoping next year to focus a little more on my blog and find a better balance next year – we’ll see how that goes 😉

Beyond that – 2018 was a year of travel – to Florida for my birthday with my immediate family, South and North Carolina with my parents, too many weddings to count in California, Portland Maine, Washington D.C. and more, Laguna Beach for a long weekend, and finally Costa Rica a few weeks ago. I already have a few trips planned for next year, and I can’t wait to add some more international travel to my 2019 itinerary too 🙂 Anyways, I can go on and on about this past year –  but I’ll definitely be pulling together a more thurough 2018 recap post (and share some of my intentions for 2019) later this week! The end of the year always makes me reflect on the past year, and I’m honestly excited for a fresh start and to set my intensions for 2019 the right way. Plus, I’m turning 30 this year, which is equally exciting and terrifying to me 🙂

Anyways, besides being a new year, it’s also bitter cold in the Midwest right around now. While I’m planning to wear this cozy number for New Years, I’m definitely freaking out about how cold it’s going to be when the clock strikes midnight (and let’s be real…how cold it’s going to be from now until April….ugh!). I’ve been loading up on cozy sweaters, warm jackets, and winter accessories galore to make sure I’m not freezing my booty off all winter long.

My commute to work isn’t too terrible, but definitely involves me walking from my house to the L train, and then to the office, which usually takes about 35 minutes every morning and night. I bought this cozy Ann Taylor coat before the holidays while it was on sale, and it’s quickly become my favorite winter jacket. I wanted a long, faux fur hooded jacket, and this one is quilted on the inside so it’s extra cozy and warm. It’s also nice to have a jacket that’s not the exact same as everyone on the L too 😉  Also, can we talk about how goofy I look in the picture below? The first photo in this post is definitely the “expectation” pic, and the last one is the “reality” of how you really look during a photo shoot – whoops!Alright, I’m signing out for the week to go enjoy the New Year with family and friends – and I hope you’re able to do the same! Looking forward to chatting and setting goals together in 2019! xx
