Workwear Wednesday: The Best Jersey Work Dress

Woah, Nelly. It’s been a whirlwind last few weeks over here – but I’m finally getting back to sharing a workwear Wednesday post once again (sorry for the delay, friends….)

Now that I have a new job, my dress code is a little more laid back but still more on the dressy side than when I worked at agencies years ago. It’s nice to have the flexibility to wear jeans from time to time, but most days I still retreat to dress pants or a dress/skirt in the warmer months. While I feel like I’ve done a pretty good job finding versatile pieces in my wardrobe, I realized I needed a dress that was easy to pack, wash and was overall super comfy when doing my daily commute and sitting at a desk all day. And out of all my work clothes, this jersey dress is by far the most comfortable piece I own – and I love it so much I sometimes wear it multiple times during the week (no shame in that game!)    Oh, and one other good thing about this dress (that we all can appreciate!) is this killer cinch! It instantly gives you an itty bitty waist even when you’re not quite ready for summer time Chicago (and you know I’m still working on my summer body over here too!). I love that this dress not only is comfortable but makes me feel comfortable in my skin too – and nothing looks better than having confidence in something you love wearing, especially at work!     I liked a new more dress options in the Like to Know it app (and on my Instagram post!) in case you’re looking for some more comfortable jersey dress options too. I’m basically thinking that I’m going to try to convert my entire work wardrobe into outfits that are stretchable and packable to make my life a little easier 🙂

In other news – for those of you who have been so kind to ask, the first few days of the new job have been going well! I’m feeling fortunate that I already knew someone who worked at Kraft Heinz (and who luckily sits right by me so I can ask embarrassing questions all day long!), and everyone else I’ve met so far has been nothing short of lovely. I’m excited to dive into the brands I’ll be working on and continue to learn more about my role as it continue to evolve. For anyone else who’s started a new job recently, I’d love to know any advice and tips that made the first few weeks or months easier! It’s always hard to transition into a new role/company, so any advice is always welcome! xx
