Cranberry Dress for Wedding Season

Cranberry Dress (on super sale! I sized up because I have a wide ribcage) // Strappy Heels (similar here, here and here)  // Leather Jacket (similar here (vegan) and here (real)  – also check out my roundup of all my faves here!)  // Necklace // Knot Bracelet // Tory Burch Purse (sold out, but shop similar here and here)

Happy Monday, friends! It’s tough to get back to the grind this morning after a few relaxing days in Door County for a much needed break. I unplugged (for the most part), watched a whole crapload of sports (not my choice….but I complied), ate at a few of our favorite restaurants, stopped by Island Orchard Cider company, drank lots of coffee, explored the cute little towns and walked just about everywhere we could to enjoy the (cold) sunshine for a few days. It was magical to get out of the city for a few days, and I feel so lucky to have gotten a chance to getaway. Hopefully I’ll pull together a little getaway guide to Door County soon for those of you who are looking for a fun summer/fall getaway from the city too!

Speaking of getaways, wedding season is officially upon us – and I’m already calculating how much time I need to take off to make it to all of them throughout the summer 😉 While I have more dresses than any human truly needs (it’s been confirmed by multiple source…), I spotted this pretty number at Club Monaco a few weeks back on super sale, and knew I needed to add it to my wedding dress arsenal. I mean, those tiers!  The star details! And that perfect fit!  In my defense my mom was shopping with me, and she told me I needed it too – so it’s not totally all my fault. Plus, with so many weddings this summer, I’m definitely going to get my moneys worth on this one 😉

Not to continue to go on a dress tangent (but I’m already there…) I love a dress that looks good alone or paired with a jacket, especially when it gets chilly at night during those summer weddings. My jacket of choice is always a leather one (specifically this one I wear constantly on CS!), so for more casual weddings I always bring it along – or steal Tom’s if I need something in a pinch and he’s willing to share.   In others news, I’m leaving for a week long vacation to Asheville, North Carolina tomorrow! My parents were already planning to go on a road trip to North and South Carolina, so I decided to tag along for the second half of their trip. I’m excited for some tasty southern cooking, hiking around the Blue Ridge Mountains, enjoying some sunshine and many, many tasty cocktails. If you’ve been to Asheville (or better yet, have lived over there!) send any and all tips my way. It’s a little last minute of a trip for me, so any help would be much appreciated. I’m excited to getaway (again!) and enjoy some quality time with my parents. They’re pretty entertaining, so I’ll make sure to share some highlights on Instagram stories too!
