My Favorite Classic Jewelry Pieces

Good morning, friends! Hopefully you’re all easing into your week (and it’s erring on the side of relaxing over being too chaotic!) I’ve been easing back into the work week over here and it’s been quite the transition. Let’s just say that I’m ready for a daily siesta as soon as 3PM hits. Here’s to rallying through!

While I was recovering from vacation, I got to spend last weekend enjoying everything I love about Chicago in the fall – walking around Lincoln Park with Tom, grabbing coffee with friends at Ipsento by the 606, making chili and binge watching Stranger Things over a (few) big glasses of wine. It was the perfect weekend – one that didn’t involve too many plans, too much thinking or feeling like I was rushing from one planned activity to the other. It gave me time to slow down, which was exactly what I needed after coming back from vacation and easing back into reality.

During my downtime, I also got a chance to go shopping (who knew it was so hard when you grew up to go shopping?!) and went on a little search for jewelry. I’m usually a minimalist when it comes to jewelry, but lately I’ve been working on curating jewelry pieces that will stand the test of time (and the seasons, since that’s so important too!) I stopped into Michael Hill Jewelers, a New Zealand-born company that came to the U.S. about a decade ago. I’ve always known that Michael Hill Jewelers had a reputation for gorgeous engagement rings (they supply the engagement rings on the Canadian Bachelor and Bachelorette! #funfact), timeless time pieces, charms and more, all designed by an impressive team of in-house master craftsmen who put passion into every detail.

When I swung by, I even had the chance to meet the president of the company’s North American stores who just happened to be visiting the Oakbrook location – and he walked me through all the amazing details surrounding the brand while showcasing the love and dedication that goes into every piece of Michael Hill jewelry. It was definitely one of those, “ahhhh! I get why jewelry can be so thoughtful” types of moments, and made me appreciate the time that goes into making something that becomes so loved by the giver or gifted (or both, if you happen to be like me and buy jewelry for yourself!)  I picked out two pieces that I absolutely adore and that would be classic enough to wear every day (either casual with jeans, or for more fancier occasions too!) The first is this pretty Teardrop Necklace that’s timeless and goes with just about everything in my closet. It’s the perfect with a crisp white button down or a slightly plunging dress for a more dramatic look, which I happen to bust out every once in a while myself 😉

I also snagged this pretty geometric ring with diamonds for a more luxe (but still everyday) piece. I seriously got all heart eyed when I saw this ring and knew it would be perfect as a statement piece that’s also chic enough for every day. For anyone you’re looking to impress over the holidays, take note of this pretty stunner, friends! Anyways, I can’t recommend Michael Hill Jewelers enough – my in-store experience was amazing and I’m so excited with the new, classic pieces I have to add to my jewelry collection (you can never have too much, right?!)

In other news – what are you all up to this week? I’m counting down the days until I get to jet off to NYC, but until then I’m spending all my free time getting caught up on life before I hit the road again. After this I’ll finally be around Chicago without many plans to leave, so I have to enjoy the adventure while it lasts! Hope you’re all planning a little adventure to give yourself something to look forward to too!

This post was sponsored by Michael Hill Jewelers, but all opinions are my own. As always, thank you so much for supporting the brands that keep Charmingly Styled running!
