Starting to Feel Like Fall

Ann Taylor Wrapped Cashmere Sweater // Faux Leather Leggings // Bow Cheetah Flats // Cuyana Purse

Well, after a few weeks of going back and forth – it’s officially starting to feel like fall outside and I am the MOST excited about it. I’ve been layering up, nesting at home, lighting candles – the whole 9 yards. It’s maybe a little bit basic of me, but I’m really getting into the whole colder weather, excuse to stay inside, crunching fall leaves thing – and I’m not upset about it one bit.

This past weekend, I finally had a day to myself and I managed to get most of my to-do list done after neglecting it for many, many weeks. I cleaned my apartment, made carrot ginger soup (GUYS. I never cook – unless it’s popcorn, so it was a pretty big deal. You know I took pictures and sent it to everyone I know…), stoped neglecting this little blog, and finally caught up on Jane the Virgin. I don’t usually watch a ton of TV shows, but for some reason I’ve been very into Jane the Virgin lately – and may have cried alone on my couch at least 10 times during the last season (#TeamRaphael over here for sure). And honestly, I would just watch that show for Gina Rodriguez because she’s basically my aspirational celebrity BFF (AND she’s from Chicago! So already major BFF bonus points!) Anyways, it was nice to just slow down, take some time to not have any plans, and feel at least a little bit productive before a big week ahead. Plus now that it’s cold outside, the weather gave my the perfect excuse to cozy up 🙂 Speaking of keeping cozy, I’ve been reobsessing over my sweater collection for fall, and adding a few new goodies to my collection too! I swung by Ann Taylor on Michigan Avenue a few weeks back and bought a few new pieces from their Luxe Wear collection – featuring the coziest, chicest knits for fall – including luxe cashmeres, wools and knits that have quickly become some of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe. I’ve been wearing this little cashmere bow sweater on repeat to work and during the weekends, and every time I wear it some kind stranger tells me how much they like (and always as, ‘Where’s it from?!) I love that it has a super long belt for getting creative with tying bows – and it’s super cute with leather leggings, work pants or a pair of jeans. Plus, you need to go in and feeeeeeeel it, seriously – it’s the softest sweater I own (and I embarrassingly own quite a bit of sweaters!)   Anyways, I hope you’re getting cozy for the season too – however that might be! If you have any good soup recipes, lay it on me – because I just might become Betty Crocker by the time winter comes around. And now that I’ve finished Jane the Virgin, any other suggestions of TV shows to binge watch right now? I need something else until the next season is on Hulu 🙂 xx
