Hey friends! Hope everyone is enjoying how magical these first few months of summer are – especially for those in Chicago who’ve been waiting for this weather all year round. There’s nothing better than summers in Chicago, and it’s been so nice getting to spend more days by the pool, grill on the patio and enjoy a few fun summer road trips around the Midwest. I’m not going to lie though, I’ve been second guessing road trips with how much gas costs these days, so I teamed up with Hyundai to test out their all new 2022 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid for a weekend a few weeks back. I haven’t had a new car (maybe ever?!) so it was a real treat to drive a brand new Hyundai Elantra around the city and spend a lot less at the gas pump since it uses more electricity and less gas than a conventional car and maximizes fuel efficiency.
I took my Hyundai Elantra Hybrid with me to pick up some flowers at the neighborhood garden center and put together a few planters for our front yard with my friend Katie. There are a lot of features I love about this car (besides the new car smell ;)) that made it the perfect vehicle for driving around the city or taking a long road trip. Whether in the city or on the highway, the Hyundai Elantra Hybrid has better miles per gallon – and at lower speeds, the car uses more electricity and less gas (which helps it achieve up to 54 combined MPGs!). I also love that the Hyundai Elantra Hybrid has regenerative breaking, which means that the vehicle captures energy that’s otherwise lost during breaking than then uses that power to help recharge its battery – making it even more fuel efficient. Hyundai’s come in so many colors (I personally loved the red I got to test drive!) as well as 2 available trims, all with advanced safety and technology options.
It was so nice to take this car out for a spin around town – it easily connected to my phone so I could listen to my podcasts without interruption and make calls easily while on the road, had an incredibly clear backup camera, and so many other safety features that made me feel super comfortable when test driving it. There was also plenty of trunk space for the many store runs I had to make while getting everything for my planters, which was definitely a plus too!
