A Fresh Start

Oh heyyyyyy there! Happy Tuesday. It’s a big week for me, because it’s the first week after wrapping up my last job after nearly 4 years!

I know 4 years doesn’t seem that long, but it also feels a bit like a lifetime with everything we accomplished: 2 Super Bowl commercials/activations, massive new brand launches, major brand renovation campaigns (too many to count), some really incredible awards (including 2 Cannes Lions this year!), and sincerely the greatest people I’ve had the fortune of working with. It was so incredibly bittersweet to say goodbye to my co-workers (and rather bizarre to be doing it all virtually), so the last few weeks have been a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. I’m thrilled for all we accomplished and the people I had the chance to work with, but I’m excited and feeling ready for a new adventure!

I’m now also in a wonderful predicament of  having two glorious weeks off! With the pandemic, I had so many extra vacation days left at my old job that I decided I wanted to have two full weeks to fully unplug and have a chance to recharge. I’ve always been someone who is go-go-go when it comes to work, so taking some time to relax is feeling a little foreign to me – but a welcome change. I have a stack of books I’m excited to dig into, hoping to catch up on a few blog posts and spend as much time cozying up at home with a fire and Milo snuggles. We had a trip to Miami planned at the end of the week, but it’s looking like it’s going to rain the entire time, so we cancelled our trip and made a few fancy dinner reservations in Chicago to give us a little staycation back home. And tomorrow I’m looking forward to seeing a few of my co-workers for drinks to celebrate my last day (last week) at work – and drink a few Negroni’s at my favorite neighborhood bar in the process!

I’m so excited for a bit of a fresh start professionally, and taking a risk to try something new. I’m going to be working in a new industry, and I’m excited to learn something totally new! I’ve always been of the mindset that if you stop learning you’re ready for something new – so I’m excited for some new challenges of a new role, new industry and new people to learn and grow from.  Plus, I’m a consumer of the new company’s products, so I’m excited to be a part of a brand I already know and love. Can’t wait to be able to share more soon 🙂 And in the meantime, I’m counting these photos from Hannah as my new headshots – because you need new headshots for a new job, right? Plus this Sezane Mia pink sweater is giving me springy vibes even though it’s freezing outside, and has quickly become a weekly wear for me!

Any advice of things to do for a few weeks between jobs? I could use a few more fun items on my to-do list (besides just my laundry list of errands I’ve been meaning to do…), so any and all suggestions are welcome! <3
