Camel Crush: My Favorite New Pieces for Fall

Sweater Blazer // Skinny Jeans // Striped Shirt (similar) // Purse (not available right now, but they do have the same style in suede!) // Heeled Mules (I love this slightly lower pair too if you don’t want them as high!) // Locket (similar for $10! I’ve had mine for at least 6 years)

It’s officially “curl up in a blanket watching Netflix” weather, and I’m not too mad about it. Especially because I’m getting silly excited about all the new TV shows that are coming out later this month, which gives me the perfect excuse to hibernate and spend my weeknights binge watching all the shows I know I shouldn’t love, but am totally obsessed with. If anyone wants to talk about our embarrassing love for Riverdale and my future marriage to Cole Sprouse (jk, BugHead forever) please feel free to reach out so we can gush together. Also, I’ve watched the trailer for Sabrina at least 3 times and am about to get extra, embarrassingly excited  about that show too! Besides fall being the perfect excuse to watch Netflix, I’ve been also excited about mixing up my wardrobe for the season with some new classic pieces. While I’ve been attempting to exert some self control to resist totally redoing my wardrobe, I’ve been a little excited about stocking up on fall sweaters – especially oversized, super comfy ones that I can wear to the office, or on a casual weekend day. While I’m not super pleased that it’s around 37 degrees when I wake up every morning to go to work, I do love the fact that I can rock a sweater and feel cozy all day long.

I’d been eyeing up sweater blazers last fall and didn’t pull the trigger (and regretted it!), so this year a cozy sweater blazer was the first thing I bought for the season. I saw a few friends wearing this Madewell camel sweater blazer, and I loved that it was cozy and totally office appropriate (whether you have a more casual office, or if you need to dress up!). It has these slits on the side that make it easy to move/sit in at the office, and the fact that it’s a little oversized makes it feel extra cozy. I actually bought an XXS (I’m usually just a small) since it’s so oversized and I love the fit! I’ve been pairing it with striped t-shirts, but it would also look super cute with a button down chambray shirt too. Since it’s oversized, it’s perfect for layering too. I’d also been looking for a cute pair of mule heels, and I spotted these Madewell ones last season and didn’t pull the trigger quickly enough! They sold out after a few weeks, so when I saw them in-store I knew I had to pick them up before I missed my chance again. They run true to size and have a teeny tiny bit of stretch since they’re leather after wearing them for a few days (which is perfect for me!). I love that they look great with a pair of jeans, which is always essential because that’s really all I every wear 😉  Alright, that’s enough about the new fall additions to my fall wardrobe – I’ll keep you posted if I happen to splurge on anything else that’s of note too 😉

In other news, how good are these photos from my sweet friend Ashlee of Ashlee O’Neil Photography?! She’s so sweet, talented and if you’re in Chicago in need of a photographer, I can’t recommend her enough! But just don’t steal her totally away because I need her to take my photos too 🙂 She also clearly cracks me up from the photo evidence below!
