Elin Dress (pink and white) // Rustic Cuff Lucite Cuff // Black Heels // Vintage Gucci Clutch (from my grandmother!)
Happy New Years Eve, friends! I’m bundled up in chilly Madison drinking lots of tea in my jammies, but already mentally preparing to go out in this negative degree weather tonight (it’s supposed to be -5 at midnight, whaaaaat?!)
Despite being totally freezing, I am excited to celebrate with Tom and a few of our friends back home in Madison. I’ve never done New Years in Madison (or at least actually went out back home), so we’re planning to go out for dinner at one of our favorite restaurants (Tavernakaya on the square) and then hit up the Majestic (an old theatre in Madison) for their Dancing through the Decades NYE party. I’m just crossing my fingers that I’ll make it out ’till midnight, but I’m definitely excited to celebrate and kick 2017 to the curb! I’m hoping to get it together later this week to share my thoughts on 2017 and what I’m looking forward to next year, so more to come on that soon 🙂  More than any other occasion, I always struggle with figuring out what to wear to New Year’s Eve. It’s always so cold, but I still want to wear something that’s sparkly, fun and can allow me to have a few cocktails without feeling like it’s suffocating me (and by cocktails, I mean wine, and snacks, and dinner, and cocktails, and then maybe Taco Bell…), and this dress from Adrianna Papell from Anthropologie is comfortable and is the perfect LBD for New Years (and weddings next year too!) The sequin details are so pretty, and I have a serious love of these see through sleeves. Since it’s so freaking cold in Wisconsin right now, I’ll probably be rocking some tights and these heels (and taking full advantage of any and all Ubers to avoid from freezing my booty off!) Narrowing down my accessories was a little bit of a challenge, but I decided to go with my grandmother’s vintage Gucci clutch and this pretty lucite cuff from Rustic Cuff that I love. They recently opened a Chicago location in Water Tower Place, and their bracelets are to die for. I bought this cuff in lucite and tortoise and wear them interchangeably depending on my outfit.  I also adore that they’re magnetic, which makes it super easy to pop on (especially when you live alone…putting on chain bracelets solo is no joke sometimes!) In other news, how pretty is this little neighborhood bar that just opened up in my neighborhood in Madison? It’s called Mint Mark and they have the cutest wallpaper, decor, cocktails (mmmm…) and yummy dinner menu. I had to snap a few pictures of the bar before I left, and I’m basically ready to move in anytime they’ll have me 😉 Do you have any fun plans for NYE? I hope you’re looking forward to celebrating the way that’s perfect for you – whether it’s in your PJs, with your family watching on TV, or going out to celebrate (they all sound perfect to me!) Cheers to the last day of 2017, I’ll catch up with you in 2018! xx
