Hi, all! It’s Mari here from Arcadian Home blog, a great place to find lots of decorating inspirations, including ideas for seasonal table decor, distinctive wall art and lovely lighting of all sorts, from foyer to kitchen. I’m so happy to be able to visit with you at Charmingly Styled to share a guest post about my primary design goal of living only with the things you love.

I’ve pulled together eight images to illustrate that concept. I hope you’ll be inspired to surround yourself with the things that make you happy.

Personal Decor

Color is perhaps the most-loved and personal of all design elements. Here lovely blue hues bring this pale washed space to life. Whether your favorite palettes tend toward neutrals, bold brights or deep moody darks, make sure you are living with the colors you love.

Personal Decor

For some, pattern is a must-have in interior spaces. This tangerine living room is filled to the brim with wonderful Mary McDonald pattern. What an appealing mix of geometrics and botanicals!

Personal Decor

Texture is an important element in interior design. Many of us wish to surround ourselves with the look of an array of textures. From hard coral “sculptures” to a soft luxurious velvet sofa, this living room is alive with glorious texture.

Personal Decor

For those who simply can’t without art, it is a labor of love to bring home works of the masters or simply framed contemporary pieces. It often has nothing to do with how famous the artist might be, but rather about pieces that speak to them, like the eye-catching artwork in this lovely foyer. A glam Murano glass chandelier can be seen in the dining room beyond.

Personal Decor

A casual Mid-Century dining area near a traditional all-white kitchen is the perfect place for a large gallery wall of family photos. Creamy yellow Ant chairs surround an oval Tulip table. A great finishing touch is the shiny modern pendant light.

Personal Decor

This cheerful breakfast room in sky blue and soft yellow is home to a large collection of McCoy pottery. It’s a wonderful example of living with the things we love and enjoying them every day.

Personal Decor

Many of us love books and want to live surrounded by them. Here’s a lovely living room design that includes a shallow nook for the sofa inset into a built-in shelving unit. It’s an inviting space that offers room for books and a comfortable place for relaxing and reading them.

Number eight on our list today is everything fashion-related– clothes, shoes, accessories. Since we know Maya loves fashion and happily lives with it, this one is especially for her. We’re talking closets and dressing rooms here. This lovely space is both chic and functional. I especially love the pendant lighting and color-blocked drapery panels.

These spaces are all so beautiful. Makes me want to start from scratch! haha! I'm excited though because we are getting new couches on Wednesday and I have hated our couches for months now… should make me love home a little more 🙂
